Upper Limb Prosthetics

Upper limb prosthetics have advanced significantly in recent years. The technology available now makes upper limb prosthetic wearing more attractive than ever before. In the past function was often compromised for cosmetic effect and limb wearers frequently found they preferred not to wear limbs that were cumbersome and not functional.

Today at Proactive we see many more upper limb patients taking to the new technologies. To maximise the functional potential significant input is required from and experienced prosthetist, frequently supported by an occupational therapist  working closely with the patients to learn how to maximise the technology for their individual needs.
