Attending ProActive’s clinic is always a pleasure; it is most unlike any other medical establishment I have attended in that respect. There is a sense of being part of a family at ProActive and yet the set up is also incredibly professional. There is a good camaraderie between patients and I enjoyed meeting other amputees. I don’t think I would have regained my independence if I did not have the benefit of being treated the close knit team. I could not recommend the treatment and the unstuffy, no nonsense, yet empathetic, approach more highly.
I actually assumed that Richard was an amputee himself when I first met him and for a long time afterwards because of his incredible in-depth knowledge and understanding of how it ‘feels’ to use a prosthetic limb.
Richard was prepared to listen to what I wanted to achieve, involve me in the process of choosing which products I would need to achieve my goals, he was positive and optimistic while being honest and realistic about what was possible. Richard made me feel like I was part of the team and that we were all working towards the same goal, helping me realise my dreams.
